Have you tried writing to Pennsylvania about John Knowlton and Alma Pomeroy?
I would try writing to the Philadelphia courthouse. An address would be:
Philadelphia City Hall, Philadelphia, PA 19107-3209. The city and county offices
combined in 1854 which would make it more likely to have info on them. Some
other places to try in PA would be:
Bureau of Archives and History Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission William Penn Memorial Museaum and Archives Building 3rd Avenue and Forster St. PO Box 1026 Harrisburg, PA 17108-1026 State Library of Pennsylvania Commonwealth Ave and Walnut St PO Box 1601 Harrisburg, PA 17105-1601 The Historical Society of Pennsylvania Library 1300 Locust St. Philadelphia, PA 19107 The Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania Library 1300 Locust St. Philadelphia, PA 19107 Historical Society of Western Pennsylvania and Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society 4338 Bigelow Blvd. Pittsburgh, PA 15213-2695 South Central Pennsylvania Genealogical Society PO Box 1824 York, PA 17405-1824
Good Luck!

Subject: Lucinda Knowlton
I am looking for any information relating to Lucinda Knowlton born 1807 in either Ohio or Ipswich, MA. She married in 1825 in Washington Co., OH, to Henry Hays. They moved to Blackford Co., IN where he died in the early 1840's. She then married Martin Aldritch. This marriage ended, allegedly, in divorce. She lived until 1872 and is buried in Hartford City, IN. Any help would be appreciated. She may have had a sister Eunice. There was a Eunice KNowlton married at about ther same time in Washington Co., OH, and the name Eunice ran in the Hays family. Thank you for your help.

Subject: John Knowlton's book
Some of you may have had contact with John Knowlton of Anoka, MN, over the past ten years. He was "rewriting" the old Knowlton history, a low-tech job with index cards, hand-written letters, and writing between the lines of the old history--or, at least this is how it was described to me by him.
Now I have heard third hand that his history is "published." Does
anyone know anything about this?
