Today, Ancestry put up a new database "Massachusetts Town Vital Records
Collection" which is free for 10 days. The address is
<http:\\www.ancestry.com\ancestry\search\3273.htm>.
There are over 300
mentions of the name Knowlton in these abstracted records. This may be of
use to somebody (couldn't find who I was looking for though).

A question? In Dr. Stockings book, pg. 20 a land surveyor, found a tombstone naming William Knowlton and date 1632. Why 1637 in Genealogy page?
Correction; Nathan Watkins Knowlton, my gggrandfather, marr. Martha Marsha
Dickinson not Dickson.
Question ? Diodamia or Diodemia, nickname Damie, but have never seen it as you
spell it.
Comment; I have info on my ggrandmother Angeline Knowlton and her sisters Mary
and Olivia who marr. Ripleys. Willing to share.
" A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." My gene pool is
made up of all my ancestors and tho" ( Woe is me ) I am 3 generations from
the KNOWLTON name, my father's memories are what links me to my Knowlton
grandmother. Dr. Stocking put it very well when he quoted Plutarch: " It
were indeed, a desirable thing to be well descended, but the glory of it belongs
to our ancestors."

Welcome to the Knowlton list. We would be happy to have you share your father's memories of your Knowlton line .
Higginson Book Co. is where I purchased mine [Stocking & Errata].
I am descended from Benjamin Franklin Knowlton and Phebe Wright, both b. 1728. I have three Wright lines as and the son of Benjamin and Phebe (Wright) Knowlton . Henry Knowlton married Sibbel Wright. Phebe and Sibbel were cousins. My maiden name is Wright.

My last name may have been misleading. Wright is my " unmarried "
name.I have 3 sons, 3 grandsons and a good deal of love and respect for my in
laws so have retained the surname until now. My Knowlton connections are through
English, Stewart lines. Nova Scotia and then Ontario. However if I live that
long!!! I'll research the Wrights for my kids. The Wrights have been in the New
World for about ten generations so I am storing any Wright data I get and will
sort it out after my own book has been written.
Happy Christmas to all!

Can anyone direct me to the source for the books; Planters and Pioneers by Esther Clark Wright and Loyalists and land records of Nova Scotia Settlement by Marion Gilroy, also Knowlton Ancestry ; from England to Conn. to Louisbourg, Onslow, Truro, Advocate, to Florida?
Or does anyone know how I can reach Roma Duncan and Randy Creelman the compilers of the last mentioned book?
Also does anyone have any info on Daniel C Dickinson of River Hebert father of Martha Marsha Dickinson who married Nathan Watkin Knowlton. I have some info on Angeline Knowlton who marr James Stewart in Ont. and her sister Mary who marr. Henry Ripley of N.S. if anyone is interested.
Thanks, Elaine English Wright
